Originated from the dog that guards Nifheim in Norse mythology. Its role is similar to the role of Cerberus in Greek mythology. Unlike Cerberus, it look similar to ordinary dogs, but its chest is stained with fresh blood. The Queen of the Underworld, Hel, did not participate in the war of Ragnarok, but Garmr did and died in the fight with Tyr the god of War.
